Mr. Carson Smith, affectionately known as “Bill”, was born on October 1, 1957 in Sylvester, Georgia to Mr. Lacey Lee Smith, Jr. and the late Mrs. Dorothy L. Gaines Smith. At an early age, Carson confessed Christ as his personal Savior and joined the Bright Morning Star Baptist Church of Sylvester, Georgia.
Carson attended schools in the Worth County Public School System and graduated from Worth County High School in 1977. After graduation, Carson enlisted in the United States Air Force. Later in life, Carson enrolled and graduated from the Meadows College in Albany, Georgia in Accounting.
Carson was a very loving and caring person. He was always willing to help whenever he could and whoever he could. In Carson’s book, no one was a stranger. Being very knowledgeable in different areas, there was no job that he was afraid to take on. From mechanical work or assisting with accounting, Carson would do his best. He was a compassionate person. He would always answer a call with a “Hey Baby” and end with “I Love You, Baby”. He will always be our family.
Early Saturday morning, May 24, 2025, our dearly beloved “Bill” was called to rest by his Heavenly Father to enter into the Master’s joy. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, and a sister, Linda Faye Smith.
Carson leaves to cherish his memories his father, Lacey Lee Smith, Jr.; four sons, Antonio (Velda) Smith of Albany, GA, Joshua Smith (Syetta) of Sylvester, GA, Carson Smith, Jr. of Ashburn, GA, Christopher Smith of Covington, GA; ten grandchildren; siblings, Earnestine G. (Arthur) Greene, Lacy Anderson, Sherman Smith (Shakina), all of Sylvester, GA, Marilyn (Clayton) Lewis of Albany, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
