On May 23, 2025 at 2:31 PM in the afternoon, James Nathan Williams made his earthly departure to his new heavenly home.

Nathan, or as he was affectionately called (Nate) was the son of the late James Cleveland Williams and the late Marietta Alverson Spencer. He was born May 15, 1950 in Reidsville, NC. Nathan was a special baby and his Grandmother made sure that he knew just how much he was loved and adored being the apple of her eye. Nate was so adored and favored by his Grandmother that it afforded him special privileges, like getting candy and treats leaving his other brothers, sister and cousins puzzled and scratching their head as to why was he the golden child, but they dare not say anything as to get something they didn't want.

As a native and resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina all of his life he attended Ruffin Hight School and was a graduate of the Class of 1970.

Doing his time in High School, Nathan drov to School Bus while farming, he wanted to do more with is life and that resulted in him getting a job working for Fieldcrest Mills. Having worked at Fieldcrest for a few years Nathan was drafted to the Military to serve his !and that he did faithfully for 24 years where he retired as a E8 Master Sergeant in the 82th Airborne Infantry in Fayetteville, NC.

While still serving his country and returning home from time to time, James Nathan was also known as Big Will from Reidsville! Nathan loved coming home but was reminded when he would go back to serve his country of a saying that his Mother would remind him of every time he would leave, and she would tell him: Only The Strong Survive! Which was a saying that he lived by and also shared with his wife, family and close friends.

While serving in the Army, Nathan received many awards as well as his HONORABLE DISCHARGE G, ARMY SERVICE RIBBON, NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, W/BRONZE SERVICE STAR, OVERSEAS SERVICE RIB-BON-4/ARMY GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL-77H AWD/ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL-301C/ARMY ACHIEVELMENT MEDAL, NONCOMMISSIONED OFICER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT RIBBON-3.

We thank Nathan for his service in his country, but most importantly we thank him for the life lessons, the firmness that he always cared with him to only want to make you be your best self and be all you can be.

We thank the Lord for Nathan excepting Christ as his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2025 and being baptized by Pastor Courtney Stockton. God is a good God and he doeth all things well because he is a Faithful God!

Nathan, loved to cook, he was known for cooking pig feet, making goulash, chicken wings and loved ice cream sandwiches, Carmel cake and loved to make a vegetable soup and cook pork chops.
