Mrs. Beatrice Russ Thomas, affectionately known as “Ms. Bea, Aunt Bea, Bea, granny, and Nacho”, formerly of Marianna, Florida, of Nashville, Tennessee, transitioned to ever be with the Lord in Trevecca Healthcare Center in Nashville, Tennessee on May 28, 2025.

Mrs. Thomas began her early Christian journey at an early age in Holyneck Missionary Baptist Church in Campbellton, Florida. She later joined Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church where she served until her health failed.

Mrs. Thomas received her formal education in the Jackson County Public School System where she graduated from St. Paul High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Thomas, Sr.; her parents: Bertha Mae Russ Lewis and stepfather, Flavius Lewis, and sister, Better Lewis Daniels.

Homegoing celebration services will convene on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Holyneck Missionary Baptist Church located at 3395 Cemetery Lane in Campbellton, Florida 32426 where Reverend Richard Peterson is the pastor/officiating.

Mrs. Thomas will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.

Interment in the Holyneck Cemetery in Campbellton, Florida.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.

She leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond yet precious memories, a loving family:

Two Daughters: Ida Veronica Thompson and Bertha Mae Thomas

Son: Roy Thomas, Jr. (Tamika)

Two Sisters: Lola McKinnon and Alice Barnes (Tommy)

Brother-in-Law: Wallace Thomas (Margaret)

Sister-in-Law: Erma Kelly

Six grandsons, one granddaughter, three great grandsons

Stepchildren: Arlette Lynn, Jenny Harris, and Reginal Lanier (Debbie)

And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
