Shirley Bynam, 68, passed on Saturday, May, 31, 2025 in Atlanta, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church located at 1 Nuckols Rd, Phenix City, AL, Rev. Gregory Sutton, pastor, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
Mrs. Shirley Louise Alexander Bynam, was born August 17, 1956 in Columbus, GA. She gave her life to Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. W.L. Lewis at Mount Olive. She was the eldest of three daughters born to the late Deacon Willie Alexander Jr. and Sister Dorothy Daniel Alexander.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted husband, Jimmie Bynam, her two handsome sons, Kenyatta (Denise) Bynam, Phenix City, AL., Kanton (Camille) Bynam, Smiths Station, AL, her beautiful and lovely mother, Sister Dorothy Daniel Alexander, Phenix City, AL, her two sisters, Joyce (Pastor Earl) Woods, Phenix City, AL, LoRenda (Anthony) Humber, Griffin, Ga., 8 grandchildren: Noah, Joshua, Ethan, Victor, Gideon, and Destiny Bynam, all of Smith Station, Ala., La’Cheryl and Zoey of Phenix City, Ala., two uncles, Henry Alexander, Fort Mitchell, Ala., and Deacon George L.(Monica) Alexander, Phenix City, AL., brother in laws and sister in laws, Fred and Ricky Bynam, Fort Mitchell, Ala., Lewis (Mary) Bynam, Phenix City, Ala., Carrie Hill, Patrica Bynam, Emma Sumbry, all of Phenix City, Ala., and Gennie Bynam of Tuskegee, Ala., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially the class of 1974.
