Julius Walker, 69, passed away on June 2, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. Born on January 9, 1956, Julius lived a life marked by service, strength, and a deep love for family and community. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Julius continued his commitment to service through a career in civil service at Fort Benning. His intelligence and determination were evident in every role he undertook, earning the respect of colleagues and community alike.

Julius found joy in life’s simple pleasures—grilling outdoors with loved ones, casting a line while fishing, taking peaceful walks, and listening to music that stirred the soul. His sense of humor brought laughter to many moments, and his pride in his family was unwavering.

He was the beloved father of Julian Walker, Julie Walker, Jeremy Walker, and JaShon Franklin. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Cortera Rogers, Clayton Hawk, Keira Walker, Jeremy Walker, Jala Walker, Victoria Blackmon, Jaydn Walker, Kinsley Walker, Victoria Franklin, Annissa Carr, Julian Walker Jr., Alexis Walker, and Asiaa Lanham. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Chance Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Camden Rogers, Amir Walker, Mariahlynn Blackmon, and Jaelynn Blackmon. Julius also leaves behind his siblings: Myron Walker; Karon Byrd; Sharon Griffith; Constance Crocker; Wendell Walker; Althea Tarver; Carolyn McCloud (James); a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He shared a lifelong friendship with Melvin Greenlee.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and James Walker Sr., his brother James Walker Jr., and his beloved son Julian Walker. His memory will live on through the stories shared around grillside gatherings and the echoes of music he loved.
