Wiley Little, Jr. was born to the late Wiley Little, Sr and the late Mittie Hardison Little on March 1,1953 in Wadesboro, NC. Jesus saw he was tired and came to relieve all his burdens and give him eternal rest on Friday morning June 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family members.
At an early age, the family moved to Thomasville, NC. He joined Brown New Calvary Baptist Church.
Wiley received his education within the Thomasville City School System where he attained MANY accolades for his academic and athletic accomplishments. He LOVED sports!! During his high school years, Wiley played football and was an amazing wrestler. Wiley was a captain of the 1970-1971 South Piedmont Conference Championship wrestling team and he became a state champion. Wiley graduated WITH HONORS from Thomasville Sr High School in 1971 and received the prestigious Morehead Scholarship Award to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Wiley was a fearless leader and true inspiration to all that was fortunate to know him!
Wiley, also known as Wiley Jr, Joe, Bruh, Buddy, and the Gator worked in different industries like automobile, floral and restaurants. He loved to cook and thoroughly enjoyed eating sweets, especially homemade ones. Wiley was a true sportsman. Watching TV, particularly old westerns, Carolina basketball, NBA basketball, and football made him happy. During his later years after his Mother's passing, Wiley played a MAJOR role with taking care of his special needs brother, David and also special needs sister, Jennifer.
His sister, Christine, brother, Darryl LeRay, father, Wiley Sr., sister, Marie, and mother, Mittie Hardison Little preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his loving memories are his daughter, Shannon Williams, his grandsons Chaz Williams and Rylan Harrison all of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, David Little, Thomasville, NC and Charles Little, High Point, NC; five sisters Corrie Cole, Wallburg, NC, Carol Little (Sterling Greene, Jr.), Greensboro, NC, Deborah (Paul)Young, Thomasville, NC, Linda (Rev. Leroy Tyson), Clemmons, NC and Jennifer Little, Thomasville, NC; three aunts, Louise Little, Wincey Harrington both of Wadesboro, NC, and Louise LuAllen, Monroe, NC; seven nephews, nine nieces , a host of great nephews, great nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Memorial Service and viewing will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00-7:00pm at Brown New Calvary Baptist Church, 200 Doak Street, Thomasville, North Carolina.
A public viewing in Wadesboro on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 4:00-5:00pm
The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, June 14, 2025, 1:00pm, West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 4557 Deep Creek Road, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Family Plot of the Church Cemetery.
The Little Family will be also be greeting family and friends on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 12:30-1:00pm at West Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church and at all other times at the residence in Thomasville, North Carolina.
