MR. MEDERICK THIBODEAUX, SR.

GRAND COTEAU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA for Mr. Mederick Thibodeaux, Sr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “Blue”. Mr. Blue who was 95 entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his residence in Opelousas, LA surrounded by loved ones. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Fr. Mark Kramer of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church will be officiating the funeral mass.

Mr. Thibodeaux’s memories are being cherished by: his three sons, Joseph Gerold (Wanda) Thibodeaux of Katy, TX, Mederick (Angela) Thibodeaux, Jr. of Sunset, LA and Joseph Kirt (Shawanna) Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, LA; two daughters, Gloria Colligan and Janice Lynn Biagase, both of Opelousas; two sisters, Mary Lee Davis of Sunset, LA and Joyce Babineaux of Opelousas, LA; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his wife, Ira Mae Babineaux Thibodeaux; parents, Nobert and Loretta Savoy Thibodeaux, Sr.; one son, Joseph Harold Thibodeaux; one infant daughter, Yvonne Thibodeaux; one grandson, Racardo Thibodeaux; and eleven siblings.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home.
