Obituary For Otha James Osburn

Mr. Otha James Osburn, affectionately known as "Flap", a resident of Mobile departed this life November 12, 2018 at the age of 77. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr.Major (Annie Tubbs)Osburn Sr., one sister and 8 brothers.

Otha was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church #2 in Trinity Gardens. He attended Blount High School, later drafted into the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He served in the Vietnam War where he was given an honorable discharge. He was employed by Westinghouse Electric for many years. He retired from All South Roofing Company. He enjoyed his retirement life until his health began to fail. He was also apart of the Trinity Gardens Association Club for 30 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Tony (Lisa) Pierce of Mobile, two daughters; Stephanie Beck, Cindy Robinson Tolbert both of Mobile, a devoted step-daughter Carla (Rex) King of Mobile,AL;One sister Mary Barnes of Mobile AL, 6 sister-in-laws; a devoted Marguerite Osburn, Carstella, Charisse, Minnie and Geraldine Osburn of Mobile Al & Mary Osburn Detroit MI. 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 3 devoted friends; Julius Lyles, Chartie Johnson & Charlie Howard all of Mobile, AL.

His remains will lie in-state Saturday November 24,2018 @ Mount Zion Baptist Church #2, 2701 Warsaw Street Mobile,AL. from 10am until the 11am Life Celebration with Reverend William Carey Officiating Minister. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery 800 Mobile Street Mobile, AL.
