MRS. ROSA LEE SHANKS - Age 96, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Dwight, Wilbert Shanks, parents, Silas and Pauline Spelman Austin, Clifford Barrett, brothers, Silas, Jr., Lavern, Jerry, and James Austin, sisters, Katie L. Austin, Thelma D. Taylor, Ernestine Southern, and Martha N. Tibbs.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son, William Robert Dwight, daughter-in-law, Estrella Dwight; grandchildren, Edna (Ronelle) Stallworth, Darius Dwight and fiancé, Taahira Smith of Pensacola, Florida, Natasha (Kevin) Shepherd, great grandchildren, Trudarius Austria, Kanisha Stallworth, Ashley McWilliams, Donovan Dwight, Dayshon, Dasia Dwight, Julllian Stallworth, Jada Stallworth, Calvin Wofford, Jr.; great grandchildren, Aivah Austria, Khyri McWilliams; sisters, Marsha (Rick) Goerss of East Point, Georgia, Virginia Barrett, Gussie Johnson, Margaret (Tim) Jackson; brother, Terry (Mamie) Austin of Calhoun; sisters-in-law, Dora Austin, Ethel Austin, Annie Mae Hill of Dalton, Charlene Shanks of San Diego, California; favorite nephews, Adrian Steele, Vincent Steele, Tracy Steele, Kerry Austin; devoted niece, Debbie (Louis) Macon; a host of other nieces, nephews; dear friends, John (Hilda) Nelson, Madison Nelson; cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 3527 Airport Road, S.E., Dalton, Georgia 30721, with Rev. Jimmy Ingram, Elder Windell Smith, and other ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A. M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 P.M. Interment, Hopewell Cemetery.
