Mr. Reginald Bernard Boone was born on September 9, 1968, in Albany, Ga. to Ms. Linda Boone and Mr. Amos Bell Sr. He was educated in the Dougherty County School System and graduated from Monroe High School in 1986, where he proudly represented his school on the basketball court. Reginald continued his academic journey at Oral Roberts University and Tennessee State University. Raised in a Christian home, he formed a deep and personal relationship with God early in life—one that guided him throughout his adult years. His faith remained a constant source of strength and direction, and basketball remained a lifelong passion.
Reginald dedicated his life to coaching, leaving a lasting legacy across multiple organizations and communities. He made a profound impact within the Dougherty County and Lee County School Systems, the Boys and Girls Club, Open Arms Inc., ARC, and the City of Albany Recreation and Parks Department. His passion for developing young athletes also led him to create and coach his own AAU basketball team, the Bearcats, where he continued to inspire excellence both on and off the court.
Reginald’s only child, Jordan Boone (born August 18, 2008), was his greatest accomplishment—the bond they shared was one of deep friendship, loyalty, and unconditional love. Of all the titles Reginald held in life, “father” was the one he cherished most. He carried that role with immense pride, purpose, and joy, calling it his life’s most meaningful and fulfilling work.
He was proceeded in death by a maternal grandmother, Evelyn Casey Boone, a maternal grandfather Linsey Boone Sr, a paternal grandmother Minnie Bell, an aunt, Inez Hagins, and uncles, David Boone, Linsey Boone Jr., Walter Boone Sr., Robert Lee Boone, Isaiah Boone, and Kurt Jackson.

To his family, he was cherished for his wit, integrity, strength of character, and quiet grace.
