Life began for Mary Louise Brown on June 2, 1939, in Bascom, Florida. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eva Horne McCullough.
At an early age, Mary accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully and loyally until her health began to decline. On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Mary transitioned peacefully into eternal rest at her daughter’s home, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Jr., Arthur, Charles, and Sterling.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving and devoted daughter, Wanda Jones (Joseph); one granddaughter, Alisha Williams; two grandsons, Joseph Jones and Ryan Jones (Candis); four great-granddaughters, Tykeria, Jaliyah, Jayla and Ryleigh; four great-grandsons, Javon, Jaheim, Angeles, and Jeremiah; one great-great-grandson, Javonte; three brothers, Daniel Paul McCullough (Lois) Bascom, Eriles McCullough (Betty) Valdosta, and Hosie McCullough Bascom; four sisters, Juanita Waters Valdosta, Maybell Maryland, Bonnie, and Donnie of Bascom; and two devoted nephews that she helped raise, Brantley (Jackie) and Gil McCullough (Marie).
Mary Louise Brown’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and family. Her legacy lives on through each life she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Macedonia #1 Missionary Baptist Church located on River Road in Bascom, FL. where Reverend Leroy Hall is the Pastor and Reverend Brantley McCollough will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of the caring staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna, FL.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am
