It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that the staff of Harrington Funeral Home, Inc. stands in loving support for the Horton family to announce the earthly transition of their beloved:
Once upon a time, someone like no other entered this world. Someone who took many hearts by surprise and changed lives forever. A woman of grace, strength, and immeasurable love — Mrs. Lelar Mae Horton was that someone. Alpha: August 5, 1948, ~ Omega: June 14, 2025, at 76 years of age.
She was born with purpose, she lived a life that reflected kindness, wisdom, and a deep commitment to her family and community. Her voice carried comfort. Her presence brought peace. Her love left an imprint on the hearts of all who knew her.
She now joins the great cloud of witnesses, where joy is eternal and peace knows no end. Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the love we share, and the strength we carry forward in her name.
Her Life Story: Lelar Mae Horton was born August 5, 1948, to the late Oneal and Prealla Williams. She was a member of Day Spring Baptist Church and later became a member of Christian Love Bible Baptist Church. She was employed by South Georgia Medical Center. Lelar will be missed deeply by those that loved her.
Lelar was preceded in death by her Parents: Oneal and Prealla Williams; Husband: Freddie Horton Sr.; Daughter: Stacy Horton; Sisters: Johnnie Mae Bridges and Mary Homer and Brother: Tony Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories her Children: Tracy Horton, Dalphne Horton (Shawn) and Freddie Horton Jr. (Jennifer); Bonus Son: Darren Horton; 11 Grandchildren: Darius Horton, Shakifa Horton, Shaquaveous Belcher, Derius Horton, Damaire Jones, Laila Jones, Caden Jones, Danny Carn, Xavier Freeney, and Dionte Horton; 4 Great- Grandchildren: Zyon Thomas, Paisley Horton, LaTier Whetstone and Kaleb Miller; Brothers: Clarence Williams and Jerry Williams; Sisters: Patricia Williams, Alberta Jones, Diane Murphy (Willie) and Laverne Johnson; Brothers In-Law: Johnnie Horton Sr. (Stacey), Zollie Cobb Jr. (Teresa), George Cobb (Leisha), and Jerome Cobb Sr.; Sisters In-Law: Mattie Miller, Bessie Colbert, Nadine Daniels (Kenneth Sr.) and Nellie Demps (Godfrey); Son In-Law: Kevin Wright and Special Friends: Johnnie Mae White, Rose Tucker, Mildred Akins, Vivian Davis, Sonya Spencer, Latricia Graham and the Hightower Community. As well as a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends.

A woman of faith, dignity, and unwavering love, Mrs. Lelar Horton’s life will be celebrated in a service that reflects her devotion to God and her family. Join us as we honor her legacy with songs of praise, heartfelt memories, and the Word that sustained her.
Interment: Southview Cemetery, 2051-2167 Clay Road - Valdosta, Georgia.
