84, Florentine Suite Wilkins was the oldest of three daughters born to Gennie and Elnora
Suite in Portsmouth, VA on September 23, 1940. She passed away peacefully on June7,2025. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her sister, Vivian Suite Butler.
Florentine was a 1958 graduate of I.C. Norcom High School and a graduate of Norfolk State University. She also attended Hampton University for graduate studies in Nursing. Her passion was nursing and she gave 50 years to her chosen profession. She worked in almost every area of the profession including Public Health, Nursing Home Care, Naval Hospital, and even taught Nursing. She loved it. Her dedication to her 'purpose'
in life truly left a lasting impression on those she knew and loved.
Throughout her life, Florentine brought kindness, joy, and warmth to everyone around her. Her family was most important to her and it was shown in the love and care she gave them.

Florentine is survived by her spouse of over 63 years, Thomas Wilkins; her daughter, Thomasine Wilkins Brown (Bill); grandchildren, Takia W. L. (Andy), Keith
Gordon and Ebony Brown; great grand children, Jalin Boone (Zya), Keith Gordon, Taylor Willis, Keyon Gordon, and Kei’asia Gordon; great great grandchildren; J’ya
Boone, Jaxon Boone, Jalynn Boone and Zhuri Boone; her sister, Barbara Suite Caul of Henrico, VA; sister/cousin, Linda Lassiter; Nephews, William Michael Butler of Seattle, Washington, Theodore Caul(Connie), Christian Caul of Henrico, VA, Mark Butler, Ryan
Butler and Neice, Vivienne Butler of California.
Florentine will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion, love, perseverance, selflessness, and service will continue to
inspire generations to come. REST in PEACE Dear Florentine.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 1:00pm in Steele-Bullock Funeral Home Chapel, 3950 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth, VA. Viewing will be held Friday from 12noon-1:00pm. Family and Friends will assemble at the funeral home for the funeral service.
