Claxton R. Boykin was born on September 15, 1946, in Clearwater, Florida, to Walter and Susie Wallace-Boykin. He attended Pinellas County schools and graduated from Pinellas High in 1964. Claxton also attended Florida A&M University for several years. He later completed his career at Time Warner Cable.
Claxton enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to music, and watching sports especially those played by his children and grandchildren or his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, a passion he proudly shared with everyone he met.
Claxton was a faithful member of the Anointed Prayer Partners Ministry for the past six years.
He spread his wings and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Palm Gardens of Clearwater.
He leaves behind to carry on his legacy:
Five daughters: Tara Knight, Trika Boykin Carroll, Tashif Boykin Sparrow, CeCe Boykin, and Crystal Yeldell.
Three sons: Trent Boykin, Terry Boykin (wife: Vicki Boykin), and Claxton Boykin.
Ten grandchildren: Tremone Stokes, Tracy Teartt (wife: Neishia Teartt), Tajaa Teartt, Antonio Lovett Jr. (wife: Amanda Lovett), Kindle Lovett, Nelson Sparrow Jr., Terry Boykin Jr., Kasanda Bass, Kyrie Boykin, and Skai Boykin.
Eight great-grandchildren: Aniyah Stokes, Amir, Aubrey, Ayden Teartt, Taharii Teartt, Amelia Lovett, Romier Prince, and Kaleah Muhammad.
Claxton was preceded in death by his father, Walter Boykin Jr.; his mother, Susie (Jean) Wallace-Boykin; and his brother, Walter Boykin III.
