Memorial services for Mrs. Lettie G. Felder, 78, of St. Matthews, SC, will be held 3:30pm, Sunday, June 22, 2025, at New Vision Fellowship Church, 1852 Joe Jeffords Hwy, Orangeburg, SC.

Mrs. Felder passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at MUSC Health, Orangeburg.

Lettie Julia Govan-Felder, daughter of the late William S. and Easter Jones Govan was born on March 8, 1947, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 15, 2025.

Lettie Julia Govan-Felder’s educational journey began at Christ the King Catholic School, Orangeburg County. She received her high school diploma within two years of entering high school, graduating in 1964 from Wilkinson High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Sociology/Criminal Justice Administration, Magna Cum Laude, Claflin University in 2006 with Presidential Academic Awards 2004 – 2006. Her professional career began at the Department of Social Services, Amblers Industries Inc., Rotron Inc., Hughes Air Craft, and CASA Family Systems. Upon her retirement, Lettie volunteered at The Reginal Medical Center. Lettie was a staunch advocate for those affected by domestic violence and utilized her time to educate families about her cause.

Lettie Julia Govan-Felder was a loving and God-fearing woman. She was a faithful member at New Vision Fellowship Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina where she loved singing.

Our beloved Lettie was preceded in death by her parents, William S. and Easter Jones Govan and her husband, Leroy Clay Felder, Jr.

She leaves to cherish a loving and devoted family that includes one daughter, Teal (Daniel) Ryant, three sons, Ray (Cynthia) Felder, Corey Felder and Tommie Felder all of Orangeburg, South Carolina. 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a special cousin Betty Horne Flowers, Augusta, Georgia and an abundance of other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply but remembered forever.

There will be no public viewing.
