The funeral services for the late Mr. Lorenzo Hamilton, who departed this life on Thursday, June 19, 2025, will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. from the Jones Chapel AME Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Mr. Lorenzo Hamilton, better known as “Renzo” to his family and friends, was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Lee and Louise Chambers Hamilton on June 7, 1963 in Worth County, Georgia.
Renzo was educated in Worth County Public School System, where he played football. He was number 21. Renzo was known in the community for his famous dancing and sharp dressing. If you knew him, you knew he stayed winning Best Dressed and Best Hair. Renzo won many Talent Shows back in the day when Mrs. Mary Alice Shipp had the Save the Children Hair and Fashion Show. Renzo loved his family and his friends. He never met a stranger. When you came in contact with him, he always greeted you with a smile.
Lorenzo gave his life to Christ at an early age, and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church of Sylvester, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor W. J. Heath. Lorenzo was employed many years with the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia, where he turned friends into family. He loved his job and his friends. Later in his life, Lorenzo worked at Marshalls clothing store and HomeGoods until he transitioned.
Lorenzo was united in Holy Matrimony on September 3, 2011 to the love of his life, Miss Lawan Williams Hamilton, his best friend, protector, comforter and soulmate. They shared many years together and the love will never end.
Lorenzo transitioned from this earthly plain on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Louise Chambers Hamilton; grandparents, Walter and Beulah Chambers, Alberta and Tommy Lee Hamilton; a nephew, Wendell Thomas II; aunts, Margaret Williams, Gladys Jenkins, Patricia Jefferson, and Georgia Williams; and his fur babies, Melly Hamilton, Baby Hamilton and Tippy Hamilton.
Renzo leaves to cherish his loving memories a loving wife, Lawan Williams Hamilton; four sisters, Sharon (Wayne) Milton, Dana (Wendell) Thomas, Martha Ann (Andrew) Hines, Margo (Andre) Ransom; two brothers, Reuben (Kathleen) Hamilton, Calvin (David) Leandri; two aunts, Doris Chambers, Earleen Hamilton; one uncle, Homer Chambers; a God brother, Quincy Norman; his fur babies, Marty McFly, Biggie and Smalls, Queenly, Olivia Pope, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
