Obituary For John Wade, Jr.

MR. JOHN WADE, JR. – Age 83, Of Summerville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the residence. John Wade, Jr. was born in Chattooga, County to the late John Wade Sr. and Fonnie Perry Wade on August 20, 1933 and received his education at Oak Hill School and graduated from Chattooga County Training School in Holland, Georgia and later enlisting in the United States Army four years. He retired in Chattoga County, Georgia where he was employed for nine years at V. E. Anderson in Rome, Georgia and Riegle Mount Vernon Mills thirty-nine years. After his retirement, John returned to work four years as a security guard at Redmond Regional Hospital. His wife, Margaret Strickland Wade, brothers, Lester Harbin, Haywood Lewis, uncle, Joe and aunt, Olympia all preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, sons; John Jeffery Wade and Joseph Wade, Jr. of Summerville, Georgia; three grandsons; Shane Lamar Wade of Greenville, North Carolina, Ashford Price and Javotte Smithof Summerville; seven great-grandchildren; very special cousin, Laura Nell Jackson Malone of Indianapolis, Indiana; a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 265 Oak Hill Baptist Rd. Summerville, Georgia with Pastor George Beavers, Presiding and Minister Melvin Mosley, Eulogist. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
