Obituary For Lugenia Neal "Puny" Dozier

MRS. LUGENIA NEAL “PUNY” DOZIER – Age 79, - Of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Hamilton Medical Center. She was born on November 26, 1939 to the late James Neal and Corrie Bell Hardinger Neal. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Lucy Mae Grant, Carrie Ada Willis, brother (nephew), James H. Neal, two sons, Thomas Neal and Julian Keith Winkfield, niece, Tahra Neal.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Thurman “Catfish” Dozier; sons, Timothy Neal, Gordon Lee Winkfield, Anthony (Phyllis) Winkfield, of Dalton, Georgia; grandchildren, McKendall Bonds, Zulekha Neal, Shalisa (Torrey) Love, Thomas Winkfield, Jr., Rachel (Eric) Rodriguez great grandchildren, Zaniya, Zahria, McKasmayne, and Dallas, Ethan, Gabriel, Aurora, Akilah; daughters-in-law, Patricia Neal, Glenda Winkfield; sisters-in-law, Barbara Ann Lawrence, Sara Mae (Jimmy) Reynolds, Mary Lawrence, Bessie Lamar, Dorothy Wedgeworth; brother-in-law, Jerome Dozier; nieces and nephews, Mary Janetta Coppage, Christine (Ray) Hall, Mary Jane Dixon, Charles (Deborah) Neal, Pastor Miriam (Bishop Craig) Pender, Wanda (Kevin) Thornton, Joseph McHenry, Jr., Terry Wayne McHenry; other relatives, and dear friends, Waydean Hinchey who is the daughter of Peggy Jones for many years as her caregiver. Then after nine years, Waydean became Puny’s caregiver with her love. Also, Fred (Olean) Thompson, Zeke Weaver, Pastor George Beavers, The Whitener family, and other friends.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Roan Street, Dalton, GA. with Rev. Rodney Weaver as Eulogist, Dr. Jerry Jones as Presider, and Pastor Kenneth Scaife, officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Interment, West Hill Cemetery. Uncle Thurman (Catfish),Praying for you and Auntie's entire family. To know her was to truly Love her. Everyone loved her cakes, cooking and sense of humor.
