Walter Lee Nelson was born September 3rd, 1931 to the late Charlie Nelson Sr. and Emma Nelson.
Walter worked many years at Pabst Blue Ribbon, Mathis Acers, and later retired at the Robins Air Force Base. He loved and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a faithful member of W.R.C.M.E Church.
On June 18th, 2025, Walter transitioned his life from this earthly place to eternal life with his Lord and Savior. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Ola Bell Nelson; daughter, Gloria Jackson; son, Sonny Harden; brothers: Sammie Nelson, Joe Frank Hodges, and Charlie (Bo) Nelson Jr.; and sister, Leila Dinkins.
Survivors included his children: Walter (Rose) L. Nelson, Jr., Minnie (Rodney) Sanders, Rickey Nelson, Mary Gail (Milton) Walker, Chiquita Williams, and Tiffany Hampton; a devoted grandson who he reared as his own, Deion Nelson; siblings: Dorothy Mathis, Annie Ridgeway, Ida Parks and Ricky Simmons; sisters-in-law: Annie Hart and Willene Gray; a very devoted niece, Angela Dinkins; a devoted son-in-law, James Jackson; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
