It is in great sadness to announce the passing of Michael L. Gums, 78 of Chester, SC originally from Roanoke Rapids, NC he served in the US Navy and retired from Black & Decker. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby M. Gums and his father, Mahlon L. Gums and his brother, Donald W. Gums. He leaves behind three children, Michael L. Gums, Jr. of Littleton, NC, Christopher L. Gums, and wife Laura Jean of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and Rebecca A. Gums of Littleton, NC: two sisters, Susan G. Shields, and husband, William of Chester, SC, and Deborah G. Miles , and husband, Tony of Littleton, NC. He had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews the family will gather at a later date.
