Mae Bell Foston Echols died peacefully in home hospice care on June 21, 2025. Originally from Milledgeville, Georgia, Ms. Echols resided in Atlanta for nearly seven decades, and taught in the Gwinnett County School System for more than 30 years. A long-time member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, she was also a founding member of the Atlanta Artistic Dogwood Garden Club. The daughter of the late Edd and Rebecca Foston, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Vincent Echols; she is survived by her son, Derek Vincent Echols, and granddaughter, Morgan Briana Echols.
