Darlene McDuffy, affectionately known as “Doc,” passed away at the age of 67 in Palatka, Florida. She was born on December 16, 1957, in Palatka to John W. Cobb and Margaret Cobb. On December 26, 1973, Darlene married the love of her life, Henry McDuffy, and together they built a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others. Darlene received her education through the Putnam County School District and went on to bless her community for many years through her work and her caring spirit. In 1986, Darlene opened her own daycare, where she dedicated herself to caring for and nurturing children until her retirement in 2016. Her daycare was more than a business; it was her ministry, and she treated each child as if they were her own. She also worked with Rip’s Cleaners, where she formed lifelong friendships and served her community with kindness and diligence. Darlene had a deep love for the outdoors and found peace and joy in fishing whenever she could. She will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her gentle spirit, and the love she shared so freely with everyone she met.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the children whose lives she touched throughout the years.
She leaves to cherish her many memories: loving and devoted husband, Henry McDuffy; siblings, Emma Jackson – Moore, Rose Jackson (Clifford) Young, Freda Cobb, Geraldine Cobb Statne, Reatha Cobb Level, Willie Cobb, Dwayen Cobb; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing community.
