We honor and celebrate the life of Carolyn Hite, daughter of the late Eunice Minerva Walton Hite Green and the late Willie W. Hite and Joseph Green. Carolyn was born in Lawrenceville, Virginia, the fifth child of 12.
She received her formal education in the Brunswick County Public Schools. She loved math and science. Her love for cooking led her to later attend culinary school, opening the door for many unique opportunities.
During her working career, she worked at F & W Fishhouse, Penn National Insurance Company and Penn Harris, where she developed lifelong friendships. She was a traveling supervisor for Stacey Buffet. Prior to becoming ill, she worked part-time for Service Master doing what she loved—cleaning.
Carol was also involved in her community. She worked in the voting polls for years and solicited others to join her. Her love for her community showed how she kept her neighborhood clean. She could always be found sweeping the neighborhood streets, sidewalks and picking up trash, checking in on neighbors and taking them food. In her leisure time, she loved to chat with family. She always put family first, going the extra mile to help family whenever and wherever needed. She enjoyed music and could be found singing and dancing even by herself. She loved to shop and loved clothes. She enjoyed cooking because she knew food brought family and friends together. She was a wonderful hostess!
