Timothy Hillman was born on May 30, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the union of Earnest Hillman, Sr. and Georgia B. Sims Hillman; he was the fifth child born to this union of six children. Both of his parents and three siblings, Lenora Boatner, Rubystein Sarden, and Terry Hillman, preceded him in death. Timothy Hillman was known to family and friends as “Tim.”
Tim accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at the Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent Joseph E. Booker. Years later, the Lord called Tim into the ministry. He was ordained an Elder under the tutelage of Dr. David Hall, Sr. During the latter years of his life, his membership was with Unity Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Superintendent Thomas LaFlora.
He graduated from Melrose High School in 1975. He was employed with various companies until he decided to seek a profession as a commercial truck driver, successfully completing CDL Training and Truck Driving School. He was employed by several major truck lines, driving tractor-trailers across the country. He later changed to driving locally the last 18 years of his driving career. Tim was a hard worker and found enjoyment as a truck driver.
On August 26, 1994, Tim married Angela Washington. From this union, one son was born, Timothy Hillman, Jr.
Tim leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Timothy Hillman, Jr.; a daughter, Aliyah (Prashante) Neupane; two brothers, Earnest (Margaret) Hillman, Jr., of Memphis, Tennessee, and Robert (Evelyn) Hillman of St. Louis, Missouri; three nieces, Pamela Goods Scott of Tunica, Mississippi, Brandi (Keevas) McKinney, and Sheka Hillman Sims; and one nephew, Earnest Hillman, III, all of Memphis, Tennessee. In addition, he leaves three great-nieces, three great-nephews, and a host of great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 5, 2025 10:00am for a memorial service at Unity Church of God in Christ 3898 McCain Rd, Memphis, TN 38109
Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery 824 S Dudley St, Memphis, TN 38104
