Dwayne “Tony” Anthony Walker, 61, of Corona, California, formally of Danville, KY, passed suddenly on February 13, 2025 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born April 17, 1963 in Danville, KY to Rosie Mae Walker.
He was a devoted father, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, whose life was defined by service, courage, and an unwavering commitment to his family, education and county. Tony, acknowledged his love for Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church, Danville, KY.
“Tony’s mother, instilled in him the value of hard work, integrity and resilience. He graduated from Danville High School in 1981 and went on to achieve one of his greatest honors—acceptance into the prestigious United State Military Academy (USMA) at West Point.
From 1981 to 1985, Tony pursued his passion for engineering and service at USMA, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. His dedication to learning continued throughout his life as he completed coursework toward a Master of Arts degree in Management and Health Services Administration at St. Mary’s University.
Upon graduation from West Point, Tony served with distinction in the 101st Airborne Division, in the U.S. Army. As a member of the renowned “ Screaming Eagles,” he embodied the division’s motto, “Rendezvous with Destiny,”.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rosie Mae Walker; his brothers-in-law, Howard White, Sr. and Fred Hall, III; and his nephew, Fred Hall IV.
Tony leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and honor through his son, Benjamin Walker Rausch. He is also survived by his three sisters: Pattie (Burdett) Hall, Betty (Caldwell) White, and Laticha “Tish” (Walker) O’Rea; two nieces, two nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; and a host of dear friends who will forever treasurer his laughter and honor his legacy.
