Linda Beth Williams

06/05/1944 - 07/06/2025

Linda Williams, 81, Bowie, Texas moved on to her Heavenly home on July 6, 2025. Linda, also known as Granny or Fuzzy by those who loved her, was loved fiercely and will be missed deeply.

Linda was born in Dumas, Texas on June 5, 1944 to Jewell Donovan and her husband who died very early in Linda’s life. Jewell then married Earl Laney who would become the man who raised Linda as a Father.

Linda waitressed most all of her life, retiring from Longhorn Café in 2022. She was one of eight children and knew the value of hard honest work and instilled that same value in all who would listen. She loved to travel, especially to the Holy City at Medicine Park and anywhere you could see waterfalls. A lover of nature and all that reside within it. Elvis, old westerns and a good book were on the tops of Linda’s favorites list. She found a new favorite later in life as she went to her first Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert with her daughter and it was vowed to become a tradition.

Linda loved to bake…oh how many friendship cakes and other baked goods went out her door around holidays. She was also an avid crafter and even in her final months she was working on crocheted gifts for others. Linda was a no-nonsense kind of lady….you knew where you stood with her….but she had a kind compassionate heart that was given to those lucky enough to receive. A tough woman with a thick skin but a giving loving soul to those close to her heart. She found peace in knowing her Lord was close and she had given her life to Him.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her Step-Father, her husbands Bobby Lee Bingham and Ken Williams, special friend Virgil Peugh, brothers Joe and John, sisters Peggy, Mary, Barbara and Margie and grandson Aubrey.

Those left to mourn her loss on this earth are: daughter Brenda Bingham-Steen and husband Dillon, her son Bobby Earl and wife DeeBee, sister June Norris Boles, grandchildren Travis Foster, Sydni Sparks, Lucas Bingham, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her two dogs Marvin and Rowdy, family friend Damon Benton and even more extended family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity in her memory. No services will be held as per her final wishes.
