Ms. Ella Cornelia "Lil Bit" Bell was born to the union of Mr. A.B. Huston Bell Sr. and Mamie Miller Bell on January 26, 1951, in Concord, N.C. She received her wings on July 7, 2025 at her residence with the presence of family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: James Miller, A.B. Huston Bell Jr., Kenny Miller, Anthony "Boonk" Bell, sisters: Ernestine Bell Baldwin, Cora Elizabeth Bethea and grandchildren: Warren H. Torrence Jr. and Antwanette Bell.
Ella was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was the "QUEEN" of our soul. Her love for others holds very strong. She loved her family and loved hanging out with them. She had friends that she loved hanging out with also. But the biggest love of her life was the love she had for GOD!
She came to High Point in 1957. She attended Penn Griffin and High Point Andrews, and GTCC were she received her cosmetologist license and started her hairstylist career working at Sam's Salon. She later started her own salon business "Elite Hair Design" located on Washington Street in High Point. She worked at Kmart for years and then worked at Kerr Drug Store on Green St., were her big heart sweet smile and motherly love, touched many more people. Ella's love for people was awesome.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shemica Bell-Harris (Tony) Pate and son, Roberto Bell, Sr. both of High Point, NC; grandchildren; Antoinette Torrence, Jasmine Torrence, Roberto Bell Jr., Anthony Bell, Koran Harris, Malayia Bell and Milani Bell; great grandchildren; Kenley Marsh, Krisette Little, Yara Marsh, Kaidence Bell, Arianna Bell, Kendall Hayes and Zakari Page; godchildren; Delafayette Hughes, Pastor Garnetta Graham, Melissa Carmicheal and Shakita Burts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Guil-Rand Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
