Funeral service for Bruce Buchanan, 74, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Alabama Highway 165, Fort Mitchell, AL, 36856, Reverend Johnny Freeman will officiate.

Mr. Buchanan, who passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born June 7, 1951, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Dacon Buchanan (Cynthia Cross) of Panama City, FL and Miquel Buchanan (Nicole Foote) of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Dacon Lamarr Buchanan, Miquel Tylan Buchanan and Nytalia Tatyani Buchanan; three sisters, Linda Wisdom, Gwendolyn Sistrunk and Rosetta Wright all of Opelika, AL; one brother, Gabriel (Norma) Buchanan of Opelika, AL; two aunts, Geraldine (Zack) Reese and Mary Williams both of Opelika, AL; special mother-in-law, Mavis Melton of Opelika, AL; one sister-in-law, Olivia Buchanan of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
