Mr. Neil Antwan McLean

Neil A. McLean was born September 17, 1964 in High Point, NC to Betty McLean and the late Neil J. McLean. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Neil graduated from Andrews High School in 1982. He married on December 22,1986 to his High School sweetheart, Virginia Michael they have been united in marriage for 38 years.

He was known for his strong work ethic and which he carried throughout his 20-year career at Dow Corning, where he retired in 2018. In 2024 Neil started a part-time career at Fastenal. He was respected and admired by his coworkers, who admired him as a role model and an unwavering pillar of commitment.

Outside of work Neil found joy in life’s simple pleasures and was an avid sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys and UNC Tarheels and Carolina Panthers and loved attending his rivalry High School Football games. He took great pride in maintaining his yard and home, always making sure things were just right. Whether it was cheering on his favorite team or enjoying time outdoors, he found happiness in staying active and engaged with his family, and joy of helping anyone around him. Neil will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast spirit, and the way he deeply cared for his family and friends. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him loved and cherished him.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Virginia McLean; his loving daughter, Nicole (Brickston) McLean-Moore of High Point NC; his mother, Betty McLean of High Point NC, his sister, Tamika (Wayne) Williams of Thomasville NC, Owenetta Cook Hamrick of Cypress Texas and brother- in- law, Martin (Sandra) Withers of Cartersville GA ; one uncle, Jerry (Octavia) Hill of Fayetteville NC; five aunts, Lula Baker of Greensboro NC, Helen McLean of Indian Head Maryland, Hattie Hill and Janet Graham both of High Point NC, Mary Austin of Greensboro NC; a god mother, Patricia Berry of High Point NC; goddaughter, Tanesha Outterbridge of Philadelphia; a godson, Trevon Bonner of High Point, NC; nieces and nephews he loved dearly, Brittani (Tommy) Harris, Ne'Vaeh Williams, Sandy Michael (Derrick) Whittaker, Terran Clinton, Tyrone Payne, Shemika (Keith) James, Jerel Withers, Stanley (Courtney) McCauley, II, Robert McCauley, Savon McCauley, Jamal McCauley, Juanterius Poole; and a host of devoted loving great nephews and nieces and cousins who will hold his memory close to their hearts.

May his memory be a blessing and his spirit continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched. In honoring his remarkable journey, let us cherish the love, warmth, and unwavering support he brought into the world, and strive to carry forward the kindness and generosity that defined his life.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church, 3400 Triangle Lake Road. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
