Mr. Douglas Geter, beloved father, bother, uncle, cousin,grandpa and friend passed away peacefully at theSpartanburg Regional Hospice Home on July 17, 2025.Born on October 14, 1955 in Spartanburg County, Douglas was the son of the late Mr. Wallace and Mrs. Louise Dawkins Geter.
Douglas was a masterful mechanic and worked for Superior Diesel Fuel Company in Spartanburg, South Carolina for over sixteen years until his recent decline in health.
Affectionately called “Douglas E. Fresh” in earlier years, He really enjoyed dancing and “cutting the rug” with his family and friends! He also enjoyed football and was an avid Carolina Panthers fan. Most of all, he was a strong and proud man who truly loved the Lord, his family and friends.
Douglas was proceeded in death by three siblings, Mr. Calvin Earl Geter, Mr. John Douglas Geter, and Ms. Betty Louise Jeter.
Forever cherishing precious memories are his son, Mr. Desmond Geter of Savannah, GA; one grandson, Mr. Deion Geter of Charlotte, NC; devoted siblings, Mrs. Evelyn Geter Foster of Spartanburg, SC; and Mr. Lonnie Geter of Greenville, SC; one uncle, Mr. George Geter of Dallas, TX; four aunts Mrs. Peggy (Rev. Elmer) Mallory of Boiling Springs, SC; Mrs. Sally Mae Kelly of Spartanburg, SC; Ms. Callie Ruth Dawkins and Ms. Delois Dawkins of Greensboro,
NC; one great, great aunt, Mrs. Viola Jones of Union , SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Douglas will be dearly missed by All!

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC. Livestream will be available via Facebook on the TEEFERGUSONREPORT.
