Funeral service for Janiah Thomas, 22, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Otis Tyner, Jr. will officiate.

Ms. Thomas, who passed Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 2, 2003, in Jefferson County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: father, Christopher Thomas of Opelika, AL; mother, Tanika Harper of Opelika, AL; paternal grandfather, Richard Hall, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; paternal grandmother, Mattie Maddox of Opelika, AL; maternal grandfather, Herbert (Marcia) Harper of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandmother, Gloria Harper of Tuskegee, AL; one sister, Emari Moore of Opelika, AL; one uncle, Herbert Harper of Opelika, AL; two aunts, Alisha (Zarian) Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Anquanetta Harper of Auburn, AL; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
