Funeral service for Raymond Comer, 71, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Zion at the Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, 3845 Lee Road 29, Opelika, AL, 36804 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Thomas Betts, Pastor, Apostle Auzzie Comer, Jr., will officiate.

Mr. Comer, who passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born July 25, 1953, in Macon County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Franchesca Strickland (Corey Brewer) of Valley, AL; seven grandchildren; four sisters, Olivia (Sam) Jones of Atlanta, GA, Barbara (Frank) Parker of Union City, GA, Betty (Lionel) White of College Park, GA and Martha Chaney of Union City, GA; one brother, John Gordy of Indianapolis, IN; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
