Gwendolyn Griffin passed away Monday, July 21, 2025.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1210 South Eugene Greensboro, NC 27406. Visitation will be prior at 12:00 p.m.

Public viewing on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.

Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.

Gwendolyn Fleming Griffin, 78, of Greensboro, NC, went home to be with the Lord on July 21,2025. Born on December 21,1946, in Oxford, NC to Linwood and Allene Fleming, she is the third daughter of four siblings. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister, Barbara Ann Poole.

Gwen spent her early years in New Jersey, but move to Oxford, NC where in 1964 she graduated from Mary Potter High School, of which she was a proud alum, attending annual reunions. After graduation, she attended Kittrell College, in pursuit of a nursing degree. In 1967, Gwen married the love of her life, Robert Griffin of Greensboro, NC. Together they raised two children, Darrell Griffin (Tomoe) of Panama City, Panama and Sheree Gilmore of Omaha, Nebraska.

Gwen’s interest in healthcare led her to a career as a Pharmacist Technician at Revco Drugstore and Charter Hills Hospital. Her inclination for sewing and fashion, as well as her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open ‘GG’s Boutique,’ a women’s clothing store. She owned and manage the store for 6 years. Before retiring in 2002, she worked for the Department of Motor Vehicles. Though her work ethic and talents shined through many of life’s opportunities, her heart was committed to daily acts of service to loved ones, friends, and neighbors, alike. Showering everyone with amazing feasts. In her free time, Gwen enjoyed cooking, gardening, nature, and traveling within and beyond the borders of the US.

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren (Darian Griffin, Christina Gilmore, and Madeline Gilmore), one sister, Patricia Knight (Victor) and a brother, Lynwood Fleming (Ernestine) and many nieces and nephews. Gwen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
