Ms. Yolanda Jeannette Carney

Ms. Yolanda Jeannette Carney affectionately known as “Jeannette,” was born in High Point, NC, on May 24, 1958, to the late Matthew Gray Carney, Sr, and Almeta Geneva Carney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Edward Carney.

Jeannette was a 1977 graduate of T.W. Andrews High School and later in life retired from Hunter Farms Dairy. She was an exceptional person who had a genuine passion for life and a strong drive to succeed. With her many accomplishments, Jeannette never lost her humility and remained a hard-working individual who always strived to give back to her loved ones. She was determined to make a positive impact on the world and always made an effort to be kind and generous to those around her. Jeannette’s absence will undoubtedly leave a deep void in the lives of those who knew her. She will always be remembered for her smile and laughter, her unwavering dedication to making others laugh, and her kind and generous heart.

Jeannette’s life was cut short on this earth; however, she was graced with the innate ability to bridge the gap through her communication and love. This gift is how she has made her mark in this world and how she will be remembered by all who loved her.

Left to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her legacy are her siblings, Cynthia L. Carney of Greensboro, NC; Matthew Gray Carney, Jr (Deborah) of Raleigh, NC and Ronald Jerome Carney of High Point, NC; god-sister Angilene Mitchell of Alabama; foster brothers, Nathaniel Wilson of Thomasville and Wayne Wilson of Winston Salem, NC; nieces and nephews, Terika Justice (Eric) of Greensboro, NC, Geneva Carney of Lancaster, SC, Miari Simms of Greensboro, NC, Shayla Beatty of Illinois, and Margie “Necey” Carmichael of Greensboro, NC; Matthew Carney III (Faye) of Angeles, Philippines, Matthew Carney IV and Aaron Carney of Cibolo, Texas, and Jamar Rorie of Jamestown, NC; great nieces and nephews, Siyanna Carney, Erika Justice, Xander Carney, Mathea Carney, Janaiza Beatty, Tayziona Beatty, Breanna Beatty, Anthony Beatty, Jr, Prince Waters, Matthew Carney V, Marteus Carmichael; uncle, Leroy Davis; aunt Maggie Davis of High Point, NC; g od-daughter, Deonna Love of Hyattsville, MD; special caretakers and cousins, Tara and Betty Waller of High Point, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral service will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
