Mr. Anthony Lee Brazil, more affecionately known as “Tony,” was born on August 10, 1958, to the late Mrs. Ethel Bess Lucas and the late Mr. Allen Brazil, in Thomaston, Upson County, GA. At an early age, he joined the Saint Mary AME Church.
He was educated in the public schools of Thomaston. He graduated from Robert E. Lee Hight School with the Class of 1977. In school, he excelled in basketball. After high school, he joined the United States Army. He served two years and received an honorable discharge.
When he returned home, he was employed by Alabama Power. He was trained as a line maintenance for the utility company. He loved his job and was very dedicated.
Anthony was the father of one son, Anthony Jason Brazil and proud grandfather of three. He loved his family, especially his sisters and brothers. He possessed a good heart and never met a stranger he couldn't talk to and was a friend to many.
During his leisure time he enjoyed riding his bicycle, watching television, watching basketball and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Linda D. Searcy, Loretta Searcy and Priscilla K. Dixon. On Sunday, July 20, 2025, the Lord called his name. He answered the call and went home to rest.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Mr. Anthony Jason (Ashley) Brazil of Thomaston, GA; three grandchildren, Jaterrious Brazil, Adonis J. Brazil and Asher J. Brazil; two sisters, Mrs. Brenda Jordan and Ms. Joyanne Searcy both of Thomaston, GA; two brothers, Mr. Cherry O'Neal Searcy of Columbus, GA and Mr. Phillip Maurice (Andrea) Searcy of Thomaston, GA; a devoted friend, Mr. Tracy Foster of Macon, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
