Mr. William Harvey Kelly

Mr. William H. Kelly, 83 – beloved husband, father ‘Popadopalas’, Papa, brother, friend, and co-worker – passed away on June 4, 2025.
Kelly, as he was affectionally known by many, was born on August 1941 in Winnsboro, Texas. He graduated from W.B. Clark High School in Quitman, Texas in 1959 and joined the United States Army after graduation. Kelly served as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Vietnam theatre, Thailand, Germany, and various states in the U.S. After 26 years of service, he retired from the Army. Kelly then worked at the Veterans Administration Uptown Division on the Mental Health Inpatient unit and later on the Blind Rehabilitation unit where he served for 24 years.
A celebration of life for Kelly will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11am at Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park next to his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Joyce Kelly.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church Scholarship Fund or to Lighthouse Christian Fellowship Baptist Church Youth Ministry in memory of William H. Kelly.
