Anthony Hope passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home Chapel located at 909 East Market Street in Greensboro, North Carolina 27401. Visitation will be held prior at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, located at 3600 N. Ohenry Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27405.
Anthony Ricardo Hope, Sr. was born on September 27, 1970, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to James and Blanche Alston. He departed this life on July 28, 2025, at AuthoraCare Collective (Hospice) in Greensboro, North Carolina, when God decided that his earthly life and works were complete.
Anthony confessed his faith and belief in God when he was converted and subsequently joined Sanctuary Deliverance Church. He later became a member of Cathedral of Deliverance Church.
Anthony completed his high school education at Walter Hines Page High School. He went on to study culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University in pursuit of becoming a chef. For five years, he worked as a station chef with Marriott Hotels. He later joined Brenntag Mid-South, where he was employed as a Warehouse Operator for 22 years.
Anthony had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed writing poetry, dancing, watching birds, listening to music, and driving, especially his beloved Chrysler 300s.
At home, he was a devoted and supportive husband to his wife of nine years, Patricia Hope. He was a loving father to two children, Anthony Ricardo Hope Jr. and Brice Jamal Mebane (Victoria); a stepfather to two daughters, Anastasia Price (Brian) and Towana Butler (Theron); and a doting grandfather to five grandchildren: Riley, Ava, Brice Jr., Aliyannah, and Xaiden Mebane. He also leaves behind a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Despite his health challenges, Anthony never wavered in his love for his family or his determination to live life to the fullest. His resilience and positive spirit inspired everyone around him. His ability to make others smile was a gift, and his sense of humor will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James Albert Hope. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patricia Hope; his sons: Anthony Ricardo Hope, Jr. and Brice Jamal Mebane (Victoria); his stepdaughters: Anastasia Price (Brian) and Towana Butler (Theron); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his parents, James and Blanche Alston; his brothers: Tony Alston, Chris Hope, and Milton Hope; his sister, Patricia Pittman; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
