REV. OSCAR JORDAN, JR. – Age 98, of Canton, GA passed away July 28, 2025. Born on October 10, 1926, Oscar was the sixth of eight children blessed to the late Oscar and Julia Keith Jordan. All five of his brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Reverend Jordan faithfully pastored nine congregations, beginning with Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA, Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, GA, Fair Ground Baptist Church in Dalton, GA, Bryant Chapel Baptist Church in Rome, GA, Shiloh Baptist Church in Ringgold, GA, Rocky Ford Baptist Church in Dallas, GA, New Bethel Baptist Church in Summerville, GA where he ministered for 32½ years, Mt. Zion #2 in Graysville, GA. He participated in State and National Baptist Convention and was a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors are his wife of 78 years, Doris Fowler Jordan; two sons, James T. (Joyce) Jordan, and the late Donald Jordan; daughter-in-law, Alberta C. Jordan; three grandsons and five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Viewing will be Friday, August 8, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Sosebee Funeral Home, 191 Jarvis St, Canton, GA 20114.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Canton First Baptist Church, 1 Mission Pt, Canton, GA 30114.
