Funeral service for Herman Hill, 79, of Auburn, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 4881 US Hwy 29 South, Auburn, AL, 36830, Reverend Jerry Dowdell will officiate.

Mr. Hill, who passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 24, 1945, in Macon County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Herman (Cassandra) Hill, Jr. of Fairburn, GA, Scotted (Lahronda) Hill of Opelika, AL, Jacqueline (James) Finley of Snellville, GA and Angel (Jacques) Nelson of Auburn, AL; twenty grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Autherine (Clinton) Dowdell of Auburn, AL; one aunt, Addie Philpot Johnson of Rochester, NY; one sister-in-law, Ethel Pearl Hill of Syracuse, NY; one brother-in-law, Tunnie (Mary Lois) Dowdell of Auburn, AL; a devoted companion, Deborah Sistrunk of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
