Shannon Eugene Craig: one called him husband or Mufasa, two called him son, three called him “P Fasa” and eight called him “Deddy.” He was a loving husband, a devoted father, an extraordinary son, and a diehard DUKE FAN!

Shannon was born on June 27, 1979, in Seoul, Korea; however, the Lord had a plan which brought him to Randleman, North Carolina and later to Stoneville, North Carolina. Within that plan, Shannon began his assignment which led him to Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Stoneville, NC. There he set his foundation with God by serving diligently as a member of the church and the Board of Trustees. Shannon was also a part of the male chorus and was a prominent voice in the sanctuary. Often you would hear him quote “Even if he doesn’t, I know that He can.” – Daniel 3:17-18, and he held onto this quote throughout his battle with cancer. His faith was always unwavered regardless of the outcome.

He attended Dalton L. McMichael High School where he played basketball and tennis. His love for sports radiated throughout his life and his children’s lives. He later navigated in life to begin his career as an Assistant Store Manager of the ABC store in Madison, North Carolina, where he served in his role for over 20 years. Family, friends, and people of the community had the blessing to encounter his laidback, humorous, yet strong and resilient personality.

Shannon was an amazing provider, protector, and prayer warrior. His prayer life was unmatched, and he often poured his ministry into those he loved. That powerful prayer life followed him until God called him home. He departed from his earthly home on Friday, August 15, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

He leaves to cherish: his lovely wife and best friend, Burrell Craig. His beloved children, K’lyn Franklin (Kristin), Kourtlynn Franklin, Chyna Craig, Tigan Craig, Kristyan Garrison, Krestlynn Craig, Kagan Craig, and Kor’ren Craig. His grandchildren, Easton and Nolan Franklin and Emmery Franklin. His mother, Claudine McCullough, his father, Raymond Craig (Patricia), sister Salena, honorary brothers, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
