Mrs. Alice Ann Hairston

Passed 08/22/2025

Alice Ann McInnis Hairston, the baby girl of the late Willie McInnis and Beatrice Barnes McInnis was born January 27, 1951 in Robeson County, NC. Alice was known to be a loving individual that would help anyone she could. She displayed this even in being the caregiver to her Parents during their times of illness. It was in her heart to be a blessing to those she came in contact with.

Alice loved to laugh, dance her 2 step, even sing, was a phenomenal cook, and most of all she loved her family. Her macaroni and cheese, collard greens, stewed chicken and rice, strawberry and chocolate cake was often requested by family and friends alike, and we can’t forget about her sweet potato pies. Through the years you could find her keeping somebody’s child. She even gave many of her nieces and nephews nick names when they were children and are still being used in their adulthood.

When the family relocated to High Point, NC she attended William Penn High School. Alice had a God-fearing family, and at an early age she attended the Gethsemane Baptist Church and later joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gospel Chorus even if it was only at anniversary time. Her heart was serving on the kitchen committee doing what she loved the most.

Alice retired from the Guilford County School system as a bus driver after 20 plus years of dedicated service. Alice lived a life of love, laughter and family and will forever hold a special place in all of our hearts. Our beloved Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Julius “Chubby” Hairston, sister Mary Frances McInnis, nephew Adrian McInnis, and nieces Angela McInnis & Veronica Marsh.
