Funeral service for Zanquetta Matthews, 42, of Opelika, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Harris Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Terrance Nolen will officiate.

Ms. Matthews, who passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama, was born July 31, 1983, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Nikeina Matthews, Chyna Matthews and Amarion Matthews all of Opelika, AL; four grandchildren, Madison Bryant, Khali Billingsley, Kamaria Matthews and Kamarion Matthews all of Opelika, AL; mother, Elnita (Tommy) Johnson of Opelika, AL; father, Darryl (Mary) Tolen of Dallas, TX; six siblings, LaTonya Matthews of South Africa, Kimberly Matthews, LaNedra Matthews, RyShawn Matthews all of Opelika, AL, Darryl Tolen, Jr. and Bradley Tolen both of Dallas, TX; five step-brothers, Laniko Foreman, Laderrick Foreman, Demetrious Foreman, Cadarrius (Shanta) Chambers and Marques Foreman all of Opelika, AL; twenty other step-siblings; one aunt, Natoshia Matthews of Opelika, AL; three uncles, Christopher Matthews, Antonio Matthews and Kelvin Tolen all of Opelika, AL; five step-children, Marquarious Rowell, Marquania Rowell, Marquaysha Rowell, Makell Rowell and Marco Rowell, Jr; mother-in-law, Vernita Rowell of Opelika, AL; three special friends, Jennifer Askew, Tracy Dowdell and JoQuice Smith all of Opelika, AL; special caregiver, Tyneshia Armstong of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
