Milisses Margarita Edwards
Milisses Margarita Edwards, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on
September 1, 2025, at the age of 54. She was born on November 14, 1970, in the vibrant
Dominican Republic, where her spirit blossomed before she made her way to Knoxville,
Tennessee, where she would leave an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her.
Milisses was a beacon of warmth and kindness, known for her exceptional culinary skills and
hospitable nature, which brought together family and friends. She had an uncanny ability to
create an atmosphere filled with love and laughter, often gathered around her table, where every
meal was a celebration. Her caring heart and generous spirit endeared her to all, making those
who knew her feel cherished and valued.
On September 19, 1998, Milisses united in marriage with Shaun Edwards, and together they built
a life filled with love, joy, and mutual respect. Their bond grew stronger with each passing day,
and they celebrated over 26 years of a wonderful marriage. Milisses was not only a devoted wife
but also a loving mother to her children, Erick Suarez and Shannon Edwards. Her nurturing spirit
extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced and loved those close to her, including
her mother, Margarita Castro, and her sisters, Pilar Ahmed, Ignacia Acevedo, Amarilis Aruty,
Anabelta Castro, Katherine Franklin, Ivette De La Cruz, and their families.
Milisses is preceded in death by her father, Rafael Suarez, whose memory she cherished deeply.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to inspire her family and
friends. Her sudden passing from cardiac arrest is a profound loss; however, the memories of her
laughter, her cooking, and her unwavering support will remain forever etched in the hearts of
those she touched.
A funeral service to celebrate Milisses's life will be held on September 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Unity Mortuary 1425 McCalla Ave, Knoxville, TN 37915. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their
respects, sharing stories and reflecting on the beautiful life of a remarkable woman who gave so
much to those around her from 10-11:00 a.m.
Milisses Margarita Edwards will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the love she
gave and the lives she impacted. May she sleep in peace, surrounded by the love she so
generously shared in life.
The final resting place will be held at the Mt. Olive Cemetery immediately following the service.
