Born on Monday, October 17th, 1955, Terry was the beloved son of Emmett Kelley, Sr. and Cora Mae Foney Kelley.
Terry was a graduate of Talladega county Training School. He served served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, earning the National Defense Service Medal. His commitment and bravery during his service were widely respected, and his contributions to the nation will always be remembered.
After his military service, Terry found fulfillment in a career as a painter. Terry had a profound love for hunting. His free time was often spent outdoors, embracing the peace and adventure that nature provided.
Terry is survived by his sons, Kevvie (Tonya) Kelley of Frederick, MD, and Tyree Kelley of Winston-Salem, NC and Tyree Kelley, Jr. of Alpine, AL; His memory will be cherished by his; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; sisters, Anita Kelley, Daisy (Bennie) Armbrester. LaVance Parris and Cora Nell (Michael) Smith; brothers, Lloyd Kelley of Winston-Salem, NC, Willie Charles (Clara) Kelley of Forsythe, MO and Edward Kelley of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters-in-law, Teresa Hardy and Cynthia (James) Bush of Alpine, Alabama, Vickie (Jesse) Hawkins of Birmingham, Alabama, Gwen (Michael) Garrett of Alpine, Alabama, Vivian (Ronnie) Scott of Talladega, Alabama and Mary (Lacey) Wilson of Ashland, Alabama; brothers-in-law; Herman Hardy, Jr., Warner Hardy and Reverend Luransa (Yolanda) Hardy, all of Alpine, Alabama; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Terry began his eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rubertha Hardy Kelley; daughter, Koncheita Kelley; parents, Cora Mae Kelley and Emmett Kelley, Sr.; brothers, Felix Kelley and Emmett Kelley, Jr.; in-laws, Arie and Herman Hardy; his sister-in-law , Brenda Hardy.
His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by family, friends, and the Alpine community. May Terry Gene Kelley rest in peace.
