Lawrence Perry, 54, of Phenix City, AL passed Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, September 20, 2025 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Desi Morgan, officiating. Public Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m.

Lawrence Mitchell Perry, affectionally known as “Mitch” was born to Annie Perry and Andrew Thomas in Cottonton, AL, on April 12, 1971. He departed his life on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, GA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andew Thomas and his son, Zay-Monte’ Nicholson.

He graduated from Central High School in 1989, where he ran track and played football in his senior year. He also ran track for a short period of time in college. Lawrence was a loving, kind, and a hard worker. He spent most of his time with his children, family, and friends. He was employed with Columbus Foundry since March of 2010 where he worked until his passing.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Annie Perry; his daughter, Teletha Perry (Reginald) of Columbus, GA; two sons, Juanyae Baldwin and Kaden Hardison of Columbus, GA; two stepchildren he loved dearly, Amy Baldwin and Jeffrey Baldwin of Columbus, GA; his three brothers, Steve (Lisa) Carter of Ft. Mitchell, AL, Kelcy Owens of Phenix, City, AL and Jason Ross of Florida; Two devoted sisters; Malissa Ann Perry of Phenix, City, AL and Laura (Ceola) Cameron of Harris County; four uncles, Johnny Thomas, and Jeffrey Thomas of Columbus, GA, William Denson of Fort Myers, FL and Jimmy Perry of Rochester, NY; one aunt, Katherine Thomas of Columbus, GA; 16 grandchildren; four nephews; one niece; six great nephews, and four great nieces; a host of relatives and friends and a special lifetime mentor.
