OPELOUSAS – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Holy Ghost Parish Life Center in Opelousas, LA for Mr. Mark Anthony Brown, Sr., affectionately known by his family and friends as “Spider D”, 54, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Garden of Memory Cemetery in Opelousas, LA.

Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D., will be the celebrant at the Mass of Christian burial.

Mr. Brown’s memories are being cherished by: one son, Mark A. (Imani) Brown, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; three daughters, Nettie “Mona” Brown (Christopher, Sr.) of Sunset, LA, Natasha Brown (Jerry) and Markeya Brown (Trevor), both of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Michael (Antoinette) Brown of Opelousas, LA; fifteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. James F. Brown and Mrs. Catherine Johnson Brown and one brother, James “Peanut” Brown.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at Ford and Joseph Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
