In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Ms. Calvette Elizabeth Renfroe. Celebration of Life will be Friday, September 19, 2025 12 noon at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church 1537 Donald Lee Howell Pkwy Atlanta, GA 30318. Private Interment. Celebration of Life will be livestreamed. Calvette Elizabeth Renfroe was born in Lynwood, California, on May 15, 1968. She was the daughter of Eric Peryear and Robbie Renfroe, both of whom preceded in her death. Calvette accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Holy Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Compton, California. She grew up in Los Angeles where she attended 102nd Elementary School, Markham Junior High, and Jordan High school. She furthered her education at El Granite Beauty College where she became a licensed cosmetologist and worked as an entrepreneur. In the early 2000s, Calvette relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where she wore many hats. She became a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church where she assisted the kitchen committee and always participate in the feeding and clothing of the needy. She was the Associate Matron of Chapter Sisters of Deborah #001 in the Order of the Eastern Stars. She was a manager of Triple 7 Dance Company Dance Boutique/Dance mom and of course was a die-hard member of her favorite football team, the “Bang Bang Niner Gang,” 49ers Spartans. Calvette was a woman of many beautiful qualities. She had a special way of brightening your day when you were at your lowest. She was known for her loud laugh and big beautiful smile that would light up the darkest of rooms. Her infectious spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Calvette was a loving devoted mother who leaves to cherish her memories: Davonn Winston, Mark Welch, De Shante Frazier, and Iyana and Ziyana Wilson; she also leaves behind seven grandchildren; three brothers, Sherman Jennings, Jr., who preceded in her death, and Ray and Sherris Jenning; three sisters, Deborah Bazzelle (Larry), Kennette Nelson (Aaron), and Williemena Hasley (Raymond); best friend, Valencia (Punkin) Brown; bonus parents, Willie and Deborah Brown; godsisters, Tuwanna and Latonya Shy; Black Barbie (Terrika) Singleton; and she has host of godsisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and host of other family and friends.
