Theresa C. Senior, born on July 3,1939 in South Jamicia Queens, NY, Theresa was the daughter of George and Ella Hendrickson. She went to Flushing High School and soon began a distinguished career marked by dedication and resilience. Her professional journey began at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to excellence. She later served as a medical office supervisor at Park Community Medical Center, bringing compassion and organization to the healthcare field, and ultimately retired from Emory University’s marketing research department in Atlanta, GA, where she was a valued member of the team.

Theresa is a proud descendant of the Shinnecock Nation, a Native American tribe based on Long Island, New York. She consistently passed down the importance of their heritage to her children and grandchildren, teaching them what it means to carry Native American blood. Growing up, attending powwows was a cherished and regular part of family life.

Theresa was a devoted woman of faith and a lifelong servant to the church. She was a dedicated member of Macedonia AME Church in Queens, New York, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board. In recognition of her steadfast commitment, she was honored in December 1999 for her loyal service to the Women’s Missionary Society.

After relocating to Augusta, Georgia, Theresa became an active member of Gracewood United Methodist Church. There, she served faithfully as the treasury secretary and played a pivotal role in the Kairos Prison Ministry and the Heart of Georgia Walk to Emmaus, helping to bring many men and women to know Christ through her compassion, testimony, and unwavering faith.

In her free time, Theresa enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and close friends. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where she regularly took part in many fun and engaging activities. An avid traveler, Theresa explored numerous destinations, including several in the Caribbean, Hawaii, and even embarked on a memorable cross-country train journey to San Francisco, just to name a few.

Theresa is lovingly survived by her children: Russell Phipps, Terral Phipps, and Lisa Lawrence (Otha). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Alim Medlock, Medina Medlock, Joshua Thompson (Jasmine), Tiara Street, Mark Medlock, and Elijah Street.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Egypt Moxey, Imani Thompson, and Joshua Thompson Jr., Parker Street, and her beloved great-great-grandchild, Jaddi Coleman.

She is also fondly remembered as “Aunt Chubby” by a host of nieces and nephews: George Matthews, Harold Matthews, John Matthews, Robert Roebuck, and Aida Johnson, who were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.

Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Ella Hendrickson, her dear siblings: Harvey Treadwell, James Treadwell, Jeanette Treadwell (“Bunky”), and Marion Johnson, her grandson, Russell Street (“Bup”).

Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 4:00--6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Kinsey & Walton Chapel.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Georgia 30904.
