William Alfred Murray III

Funeral services will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Greater Bethlehem Baptist Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

William cherished family deeply and was known for his warmth, wisdom, and his beloved “word of the day.” He built a home in Mays Landing, NJ, where he hosted family gatherings and also operated a general store for more than twenty years.

He is survived by his children Terence, Melinda (Federick), and William (Cecile); grandchildren Xavier (Anthonia), Drew, Gabrielle, Daniel, Laila, and Donovon; great-grandchild Iretunde; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and brother.

William lived ninety-three years filled with faith, love, and service. His affirmations, faith in Christ, and devotion to family and community remain his enduring legacy.

The remains are currently entrusted to Parker Funeral Home in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
