Funeral service for Booker T. Richardson, 85, of Auburn, AL, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 541 Pitts Street, Auburn, AL, 36830 with interment at 12:30 p.m., at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Hwy 165, Ft. Mitchell, AL, 36856, Reverend Ralph Jordan, Officiating, Reverend W.L. Muse, Eulogist.

Mr. Richardson, who passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama, was born December 4, 1939, in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Public viewing will be Monday, September 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

The family will be present to receive family and friends between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. during the visitation.

Mr. Richardson will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

To cherish and celebrate his life, love, and legacy, Booker leaves: his wife of more than 61 years, Velma Becton Richardson; daughters, Dawn of Auburn, Alabama and Sarabeth R. Claeys (Thomas) of Commerce, Georgia; one grandson, David A. Richardson; one brother, Joseph N. Richardson (Gloria) of Southaven, Mississippi; three sisters, Linda Faye Dunn of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Carolyn Daniels (Tony) of St. Louis, Missouri and Emma Thames (Edward) of St. Louis, Missouri; five brothers-in-law, Edward B. Becton (Mertie) of Ft. Washington, Maryland, Stanley E. Becton (Patricia) of New York, New York, Dennis C. Becton of Ft. Washington, Maryland, John C. Becton of Grifton, North Carolina and Avery D. Becton (Janet) of Manassas, Virginia; four sisters-in-law, Corrine Richardson of Coahoma, Mississippi; Dr. Wilma Troublefield, Hazel McPhail and Patricia Mitchell of La Grange, North Carolina; Lannie R. Best (Hildreth) of Ft. Washington, Maryland and Barbara Holmes of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Mrs. Myra Easley, his devoted caretaker.
